RV Technician – Licensed/Apprentice

THE OPPORTUNITY:

In this role as an RV Technician, you will:

• Examine, troubleshoot, and diagnose units needing repair and maintenance.
• Install, repair, and maintain interior and exterior components on travel trailers, fifth wheel trailers, and truck campers.
• Install trailer and fifth wheel hitches, wire tow vehicles and perform maintenance and repairs on trailer frames, undercarriage, and suspensions.
• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections on all units
• Read and write detailed repair orders using technology and paper.
• Install accessories
• Use testing equipment, troubleshooting techniques, manufacturers’ specifications, and Internet websites to assist in locating faults and performing repairs
• Use manuals, catalogues, and Internet websites to order repair parts and components
• Use computerized and electronic devices for testing components
• Communicate with supervisors, manufacturers, and consumers to ensure timely, efficient, and economical repairs.

Daily repairs, replacements, and maintenance may be required to be completed on:

• Propane gas and electric appliances such as but not limited to, furnaces, refrigerators, water heaters, ranges, and air conditioners.
• Body, roof, and structural components such as rubber roofing, siding, windows, doors, vents, awnings, floor coverings, cabinets, and countertops.
• A variety of systems such as, plumbing, electrical, propane gas, batteries, and solar charging systems.

Several programs exist for RV service training such as factory training, service schools and certification programs through attendance of a trade college.
